If your friend just got a job, how would you celebrate for him?
If my friend was hired for a new job, I would take him out to dinner to celebrate. He would have a special memory of our evening and we would have a chance to talk.
Going out to dinner is better than getting a gift, because my friend might be worried about breaking the gift. Plus, he might not want to keep it. Going out to dinner would be special because my friend would have a good memory that he could enjoy forever.
In addition, we could discuss the new job over dinner. My friend could explain the details of his new work and share his excitement and concerns. It would be a good chance to relax and talk. That time together would be more special than just sending a gift.
Therefore, if my friend got a new job, I would celebrate by taking him out to dinner.
Since students now all have laptops, the school decides to cancel the computer lab. Do you think this is a good idea or not?
I feel that even though most students now have laptops, schools should keep computer labs open. Computer labs are important for students without computers and also for learning new skills.
First, some students may not have a computer at school. A student might be too poor to own one, or the computer might be broken or forgotten at home. In any case, the student could use the computer lab to complete assignments.
Second, students can learn new skills in the computer lab. The person in charge can teach the student new tricks and help the student solve problems. Therefore, the student will get better at using computers, even though the student has a laptop.
Since computer labs allow all students access to computers and teach the students how to use computers better, I think that schools should not close computer labs.
